Initially, this was meant to be a Halloween trick-or-treat bag (hence the candy corn colors). Honestly though, make this for whatever occasion you want!

This easy bag is made with very sturdy cotton yarn as mentioned in the video tutorial. I personally love using this kind of yarn for the bags I make (though I have only made about five in my crochet journey). But, I found that  cotton yarn is the sturdiest and it stretches nicely.

Don’t have time to run to the store? Find this yarn here on Amazon. I selected a few colors of the cotton yarn that would look fabulous.

To crochet this bag make sure you have the right materials. You will need cotton weight 4 yarn, 5mm crochet hook, darning needle, and scissors.

As I mentioned, this bag is made with three different types of stitches: slip stitch, double crochet, and single crochet. To learn how to do these stitches check out this page

As a beginner, a bag may seem like a daunting project. But trust me, this bag is perfect for a newbie. I would suggest that you use a stitch marker to mark where your slip stitch is at the end of each round. It is important to not put a stitch in that spot because it will be adding stitches to your rows.

Bags are super fun to make and this bag can be any size you want. There is lots of room for customization with this project. Even the handles can be as thick or thin as you want. So, have fun with this and wear it proud when it’s finished!

If you are feeling like trying something new. Check out this pattern of how to make a bag using t-shirt yarn by instructibles.com. This isn’t my pattern, but I thought it was such a unique idea for making a bag.

My easy bag crochet project is perfect to do on a lazy day. Or, perhaps even when your significant other is watching his or her sport of choice (my personal favorite time to crochet). Overall, I hope you find this bag as easy and fun to crochet as I did! Feel free to contact me with any questions, comments, or suggestions.
